Llum Fouz

Llum Fouz (49) is from Spain and a trained therapist with decades of experience in West Africa. After extensive travels throughout the region, she eventually settled in Grand-Bassam with her family. With a strong background in international cooperation and local project development, she is committed to fostering sustainable social and healthcare initiatives.

Originally from Barcelona, Llum, 48, has been living in West Africa since 2012. After spending nearly ten years in Burkina Faso and traveling extensively across the region, she moved with her family to Grand-Bassam at the end of 2021. Seeking a peaceful environment by the sea and wishing to distance themselves from the armed conflicts in the Sahel, they found a new home in Côte d'Ivoire.

Together with her partner, they chose to settle on the other side of the world, convinced that raising their son, Peret—who has lived in Africa since his first month and is now 7 years old—was one of the most valuable decisions of their lives. They strongly believe that growing up in this region, witnessing their commitment to their passions, and being immersed in a rich cultural and human diversity is an invaluable experience.

With extensive experience in international cooperation and local project development, Llum has always dedicated her work to children, women, people with disabilities, and the most disadvantaged individuals. Her commitment to supporting the most vulnerable led her to train in dependency management, cooperation, and as a physiotherapy assistant.

By chance, Llum discovered the incredible humanitarian work of Mrs. Lotti Latrous. This encounter rekindled her deep passion for ensuring fundamental well-being and a dignified life for the most disadvantaged. Discovering the remarkable work carried out by Centre Espoir over the years deeply inspired and motivated her to become even more involved. Her goal is to actively contribute to the sustainability and continued development of this mission, ensuring access to essential social and healthcare services while advocating for the dignity of the most vulnerable.
